Amaliah Grace (aka Pamela Buckman) is an author, healer, artist, and former professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer. Her thirty-five-year career in dance gave her a deep appreciation for storytelling through movement, form, shape, light, and emotion. As a choreographer, she developed a passion for capturing the essence and spirit of both the dancer and the dance, skills she now brings to her writing.
Following a profound midlife crisis, Amaliah became fascinated by the potential of metaphysical healing to support personal transformation. Self-taught in crystals, meditation, and energy healing, she later evolved into a healer and sound channel, sharing ancient healing songs in the Language of Light.
In 2018, she published her first book, Igniting the Cosmic Dance: Awakening to Star Lineage and the Codes of Light, first on Kindle and later in print. Her writing explores creativity, healing, spirituality, and the journey of self-discovery.
Amaliah is currently writing a memoir set in 1991, when she received an Australia Council residency grant to live and work at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. The story takes readers behind the scenes of European dance companies and internationally renowned choreographers, while exploring the personal and emotional transformation that accompanied her journey.
In 2022, Igniting the Cosmic Dance was longlisted for the Queensland Writers Centre's Publishable, competition. Two years later, she was awarded a ten-week Fishbowl Residency with the Queensland Writers Centre, which helped initiate her current memoir project.
Now based in Brisbane, Amaliah continues to write, paint with acrylics, and enjoy house-sitting for friends whose cats are always happy to claim her lap.
