Kenneth Steinbach

A full time college art faculty for more than twenty-three years, Kenneth Steinbach has taught a variety of media at two institutions, as well as maintaining his own artistic practice. A Faculty Excellence in Teaching award recipient, he says “I have always been a dualist in my practice, finding energy in both the making and teaching of art. Writing this book was the happy joining of both of these passions, allowing me to speak from the perspective of a maker, and my history as a mentor/teacher to younger artists.”

Creative Practices for Visual Artists was researched and written in response to the dramatic changes in K-12 education, the influence of digital media and platforms, and rising costs of college over the past fifteen years that have significantly impacted the ability of artists to develop a strong practice. This book is aimed at offering resources to artists to help deal with those challenges and strengthen their creative development, at the university level and beyond.
