Red Maps

I am Jim Leniart, the owner and creator of Red Maps City Guides and Stationery.

The story of Red Maps began over 20 years ago when I was working in real estate. One day, while drawing a map for a client, a colleague saw my work and mentioned that I had a talent for cartography, and suggested that perhaps making maps is what I should do for a living. A lucky day. I proceeded to teach myself computer-graphics from a manual, and within one year the first Red Maps were produced.

The vision was and still is, to create maps that would illustrate a city’s cultural and entertainment offerings in a clear beautiful style. To this day every new edition of a Red Map incorporates fresh graphics and ideas.

Red Maps are printed on a bright white paper with a matte-laminated finish. That laminate makes them easy-to-read indoors and outdoors.

Red Maps have been recommended by over 100 magazines, newspapers and blogs. We've created custom maps for among others, London Fashion Week, World Cup Brazil Sponsors, and charitable organizations.

Lastly, I like that from the beginning, Red Maps have been produced in the NYC metropolitan area, by hiring and supporting local consultants, businesses and printers.
