Ian B Boyd

Ian Boyd was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1967, but since the age of 6 has resided in and around Adelaide, South Australia. After the death of his brother, aged 10, Ian found a half finished story amongst various items that he was given to remember him by. As a determined 8 year-old, he attempted to finish that story, but failed. Many years later, Ian's passion for writing was resurrected after being shortlisted in the Elyne Mitchell awards for a story about two farm dogs named Lydig and Shinko. Since then, he has always leaned toward writing about fantastical relationships between humans and animals. It comes as no surprise that his favourite childhood book was Watership Down.
