How it all began.
As a child, we all have big dreams of becoming something great and wonderful. As we grow we realize that our dream needs to become something more realistic. My interest in writing started at a very young age and only continued to grow as I grew. I knew from a young age I would one day become an author. I enjoyed reading and telling stories so it was only natural for me to want to write. In middle school, I truly blossomed. I would go above and beyond with my creative writing assignments. As the years went on my creativity only grew. As I became an adult I had hoped to start my carreer as a writer but life had another plan for me.
A bump in the road.
My life took an unexpected turn and I had to put my dream on hold. It was more important for me to do other things at the time in order to support my family. For a long time, I kept a notebook of handwritten stories nearby to help pass the time. As the years went on those stories grew and grew becoming much more. There was a long time when I had almost given up the idea of ever writing a single book but I kept that hope, but with the help of my family, I was able to push through my doubts. Before I knew it my life was settling down and my dream would soon become a reality.
Making it happen.
My dream had finally come true. I was able to actually write like I wanted to. The only problem was getting published. Going through a publisher is like pulling out your own hair. They expect you to completely change almost everything about what makes you the creator you are. I was not going to allow them the change my work into something different. So I decided to go with self-publishing. That is how I have come to where I am today. Although I found it very hard to start I kept going and never gave up on my dream. No matter how tough it got I always pushed through and finished what I started. Being a self-published author isn't easy by no means, but it is hard work.
