Wolfgang Eckleben

Raised in Stutterheim, a small rural town in South Africa, Wolfgang Eckleben had never been to London when he and Ali answered God’s call to plant a church in the British capital. That church, Every Nation London, grew to send hundreds of leaders and plant dozens of churches across Europe and the world.

Wolfi, as he was affectionately known, fulfilled a strategic leadership role in the worldwide Every Nation family of churches and ministries. He was passionate about helping people to live well, love well and to lead well. The material in his first two books, Date Talk (for not-yet-marrieds) and The Art of Loving Well (for everyone), featured in his TBN UK television show — also called The Art of Loving Well — which has aired in Europe and Africa.

He became a follower of Jesus as a young athlete, who once ran a sub-four minute mile and later completed a few London marathons. Facing death as cancer ravaged his body, Wolfi wrestled with how you trust God when circumstances do not make sense. He imparted the deep truths that sustained him in Unfailing Faith. A few weeks after writing its final pages, Wolfi died, age 60. He had run the race and kept the faith, to the end.
