I have long had a love of stories right from when I was little sitting on my Granddad's lap as he read to me in his study - a room with floor to ceiling bookcases, broken up only by the unfortunate necessity of needing doors and windows! I loved science fiction, fantasy as well as historical books, and started building my own library as I grew. I had always been attracted to the idea of writing my own stories though often felt I could never quite find the right words, but I got storytelling experience from role-playing games with my friends (yes, I am very much a geek). Eventually my confidence grew and I was able to start writing and making stories I felt were good enough for others to read - the first of them being self-published as a collection of short ghost stories in "The Old Man on the Hill and other Ghost Stories". Having loved doing this, I am hoping that there will be more to follow - when my two lively children allow me time to put fingers to keyboard!
