One day I was searching for a children's book to give to my friends who were two women, getting ready to have a baby. I could only find books that were about how different a family is with two moms. I just wanted a book that featured two moms and was only about their adventures. I couldn't find such a book so I wrote it. I realized that there are other stories about other types of families, so I am now working on an entire series, to include a foster family, a parent with disabilities, and a sibling with developmental disabilities. Because every child from every type of family deserves to have a story that resonates with them.
