Demetric Canada

Long before I became an author, public speaker, CEO, or United States Marine, I was a quiet little boy from Michigan who was afraid to speak. Childhood epilepsy and a severe stutter caused me to withdraw from people, and books became my safe place. While others played outside, I read—and those books expanded my imagination and eventually inspired me to write.

In sixth grade, a teacher told me I would someday become a famous writer. I thought she was crazy. I dreamed of becoming a guitarist or doctor, never an author. Yet life had other plans.

Years later, I wrote my semi-autobiographical Mike Canada: COLDBLOODED. One book became another, and today I have completed more than 100 titles and serve as CEO of Samarian Publishing Company.

My journey taught me that our struggles can prepare us for our purpose. The boy who was once afraid to speak eventually found his voice through words.

I found my purpose. Now go find yours.
