I am a military officer and historian. I'm primarily interested in how the ideas and institutions of the post-1945 international order(s) have influenced, and been influenced by, the use of military power. My writing largely focuses on the end of the British Empire, human rights, and the Cold War. In addition to history, I occasionally write on contemporary security issues.
