C.J. Smith

C J Smith was born in Bath, Somerset but grew up in Dover, Kent. At 18 she went to college to study Agriculture with Animal Science and gained a degree.

Her love of farming and all things steam probably stems from her Grandparents who were both from farms and many a summer holiday was enjoyed helping her Grandfather with his engines.

A Traction Engine Called Lucy is her first novel and was written whilst she worked full time in the dairy industry. She may write a sequel if there is enough interest! It has been a labour of love and a subject very close to her heart.

When not writing, C J Smith enjoys gardening, being outdoors and cross stitch sewing.
