Katherine Ritchie

Katherine (Bednarz) Ritchie was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa to a Polish immigrant and an American born mother. She is the second oldest of 12 children (9 girls and 3 boys). She attended Iowa Central Community College in 1974-1976 and attained her ADN (Associate degree in Nursing). After practicing nursing for 20 years, she went back to college and attained her BSN (Bachelor's Degree in Nursing) in 1996. She is married to her husband Bruce and has 2 boys: a son Aryn, and a handicapped stepson Bob who lives in a group home. She lives in Branson, Missouri and is an active volunteer in her community. She volunteers for several non profit agencies on a weekly basis. Her father inspired her to write the story of his survival in an abusive childhood situation and as a prisoner of war for over 3 years at the hands of the Nazis in Hamburg, Germany during the war.

She is interested in writing other stories that lurk in the deep recesses of her mind. Her parents taught her to be a spiritual and giving person. She gives glory to God for all the blessings he has bestowed upon her.
