Gary Jon Anderson

Gary Jon Anderson retired from law enforcement after a distinguished thirty‑six‑year career marked by versatility, discipline, and public service. Over the course of those decades, he served as a K9 Handler, Motorcycle Officer, Firearms Instructor, Crash Reconstructionist, Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector, and Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor. His professional life has also included work as a carpenter, printer, warehouseman, and farmer. Today, he continues to serve part‑time in Court Security at the county jail while operating a small business milling lumber and selling firewood.

Gary and his wife, children's author Larena Anderson, are the parents of three grown children and the grandparents of a growing multigenerational family that includes a granddaughter, a step‑granddaughter, a step‑grandson, and several step great‑grandchildren.

Much like Eli Exeter—the central figure of his book series—Gary has witnessed firsthand the deep fractures within the modern criminal justice system, where society often seeks physical remedies for spiritual problems. This conviction became the catalyst for the Exeter Saga, a series born from his desire to explore justice, redemption, and the unseen battles shaping human lives.

Beyond his professional work, Gary is passionate about short‑term missions. He has traveled to Mexico, Haiti, Belize, and Nepal, where he has built homes, trained police officers, and taught practical job skills. He also finds great joy in preaching the redemptive hope found in Jesus Christ.
