I work in the Australian Research Centre for Human Evolution at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. My research has been featured in The New York Times, National Geographic, Nature, Science, Smithsonian, and Discovery magazines, as well as through American, Australian, British, Canadian, French, and German broadcast media.
When not in the lab or classroom I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and photographing nature, traveling as often as possible to do so. Personal highlights include studies of monkeys in Central America, lemurs in Madagascar, and chimpanzees in Uganda. I've been lucky to kayak with dolphins, turtles, and whales in Mexico, sea otters and seals in California, jellyfish in Maryland, bald eagles in Maine, and most recently, manta rays in Australia.
