Tim Fanning has been in education for 20 years. In 15 years as a Head Baseball Coach he has won 8 State Championships and as an Athletic Director amassed 30 State Championships in six different sports. During this time he has coached numerous All-Americans, had nationally ranked teams and sent 72 of his former players on to play at the collegiate or professional level. He has received Coach of the Year honors from three different publications multiple times and was awarded the Community Service in Baseball award by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Turface Athletics. Coach Fanning is also the President of “More Than A Game”, a non-profit organization that uses baseball to serve others domestically and around the world through field construction, clinics, equipment donations and service projects. He was raised by a single mother in Columbus, GA where she instilled in him at a young age, that a life worth living starts by serving something bigger than yourself. With that strength of encouragement from home, he overcame impoverished circumstances, physical and mental abuse outside the home to finish near the top of his class in high school, then go on to play college and professional baseball and receive his Master’s Degree in Sports and Fitness Management. He has traveled all over the world in hopes of inspiring young and old to put others ahead of themselves and to know that by doing this, their lives will have a greater purpose and in turn will empower others far more than they could have ever imagined. Tim Fanning currently resides in Smiths Station, Alabama and is surrounded by his loving wife Renee and his two beautiful daughters, Brianna and Macie.
