John Trent

John Trent worked as a bookmaker and as a consultant to various bookmakers from about 1980. He has semi-retired and now only takes on consultancy work occasionally. He specialised in both compliance and fraud detection and prevention.

Having been in the industry for so long he has certain specialised knowledge which he used in consultancy roles at a number of leading bookmakers in the UK and in various overseas operations in a long list of countries including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Dubai, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Nigeria, Switzerland and the USA.

During this period he undertook research for a Ph.D in the area of bookmaker credit and also had the opportunity to build a database of horse racing information which is probably more comprehensive than that of the likes of the Racing Post and Sporting Life.

Using this database he has been able to derive unique statistical information about horse racing in the British Isles which is supplied to subscribers on a daily basis and which has content that is used by professionals to assist in their betting.

His book, Horse Racing - Betting To Win explains many of the actual form details that successful punters can use and about which they are normally misled. The book also discusses professional betting and betting systems.
