Catherine Allon, BSc., M.Ed., has been a Spiritual Counsellor and Consultant for over twenty years. During 1990-1998, she worked as a Project Consultant at the Ontario Ministry of Health with community groups and government-funded agencies promoting health and preventing alcohol and drug addiction. In her last four years there, she served as a consultant to over 45 mental health and addiction treatment agencies, travelling all over the province and trouble-shooting with CEOs for successful program delivery and long-term staffing.
In 1998, while in Los Angeles, California, her life changed dramatically as she was awakened through a bodhisattva training called the Radical Awakening process. She walked out of that session into the light of day with her senses heightened, her mind still, and felt as though she was connected with nature and all around her. Returning to Toronto, she decided to leave her well-paid and much-loved position to help bring more awareness to the world. She had learned that she could make the greatest impact in her lifetime by bringing others her gift of awakening.
As a spiritual counsellor, her goal is to work with people who feel depressed, stuck and trapped in their lives. When people become more consciously aware, they are able to follow their passion and live a life of greater success, fulfillment and happiness.
As a Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher since 2000, she has been teaching yoga classes in recreation and community centres, YMCAs, and privately with individuals. Kundalini Yoga is one of five ancient yogas. It is considered to be the jet version of yoga, bringing greater results more quickly. She is a Certified Laughter Yoga teacher and believes that without humor there is not enough joy, and without service and volunteering we forget to love one another.
In her volunteer capacity, she was a founding member of World Peace Associates in the 1990s, a peace organisation creating Peace Festivals in Toronto, ON, Canada, and a Roots of Empathy instructor in elementary schools in the early 2000s. Today she is the National Coordinator in Canada for The Love Foundation, a world-wide non-profit organization based in the US.
As a consultant, three of her most valued works have been her Seven Principles for Creative Living, How to Turn Stress into Energy, and Active Parenting. Her little ebook called Connecting with the Present Moment is available on her website.
