Mike Wendling

Mike Wendling is a National Digital Reporter with BBC News, based in Chicago. Previously he was the editor and host of the popular BBC World Service show Trending, which covers social media stories from around the globe, and in early 2020 he co-founded the BBC News disinformation unit. He's reported from across the United States and the world and has spent years investigating the world of online extremism and conspiracy theories. He is the author of Alt-Right: From 4chan to the White House (Pluto, 2018) and the forthcoming Day of Reckoning: How the Far Right Declared War on Democracy (Pluto, 2024).
