Sam Baker

Sam Baker was over 90 years old when he wrote his first children's book. Having struggled with reading as a child, he became a lifelong advocate for literacy, believing that the love of reading must begin early. His books reflect that commitment-stories crafted so that any child could easily read and enjoy them.Sam's remarkable life extended far beyond his writing. A World War II veteran and Marine, he built his career on the principles of teamwork, kindness, and education. Even in his later years, he remained a strong advocate for peace and understanding. Sam passed away in the summer of 2025 at the age of 102, but his values live on through the stories he left behind.
