Sonia Garrett

Sonia Garrett was a teacher and oral storyteller before becoming a writer. She has written several children’s books, including the Maddie Series (Maddie Makes a Movie and Maddie Makes Money) and the Harriet Hall series (Harriet Hall and the Miracle Cure, Harriet Hall and the Kaiser’s Curse, and Harriet Hall and the Enemy Within).

Sonia is a popular speaker who regularly visits schools, libraries, writing groups, and festivals. Her enthusiasm for the magic of stories is contagious, as is her desire to unlock new worlds for young readers.

Sonia has a fabulous grown-up daughter and loves getting outside in her adopted home of Vancouver, Canada. She lives in the gentle chaos of books and outdoor paraphernalia with her French Bulldog, Toast.
