I was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. I am the oldest of three children and the only girl. My fondest childhood memories are of our family piling into our RV and heading to the mountains to hike, bike, and go sightseeing. We had some great times!
My family moved around with my dad's job, so I went to several schools. I learned to make friends quickly, which has served me well my entire life. I was a pretty good student. However, I had a reading problem in third grade, but once I got a good grasp of reading and comprehension, I began to enjoy it and still do.
In the early 80s, my family and I attended a full gospel church. I was born again at 12, and my family and I were baptized in a river in Pumpkin Center, Louisiana.
After graduating from high school in Greenwood, Mississippi, I worked as a cashier at a local grocery store and as a waitress at a small diner. At the age of 20, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. And by the age of 21, I was married and had my first child. I chose not to reenlist, so I was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1993. By the age of 26, I was the mother of three sons and living in North Carolina.
Once my children were in school, I attended a local community college. My favorite class was writing. That's where my love for writing began. My professor once commented that I had become a pretty good writer and was very witty. Ha! Who knew?
In 2003, my family and I moved to Michigan, where we lived for over eight years. It was there that my husband retired from the Marine Corps after 21 years of service.
In 2011, I decided it was time to go home. So, in 2012, we moved to Louisiana. I love it here! This is home. This is where I belong.
By 2015, our nest was empty, but God quickly gave me a new assignment. I have written and published five books between 2017 and 2025.
In the summer of 2019, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Praise God! I am excited to say that today I am cancer-free.
I am now a grandmother and am enjoying every minute of it. Sadly, my husband and I are now separated, but life goes on. I live alone in a quaint studio apartment overlooking a tranquil pond. I am living a full and productive life, and am grateful for every blessing.
When I'm not working on my next book, I'm working full-time, reading, baking, spending time with my family, or going for long walks.
I write because I love taking fiction and non-fiction stories and drawing out biblical truths from them to encourage children and adults to put their faith in God, His word, and to pray. God is always speaking to us; we only have to be still and listen.
Psalms 46:10
He says, "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
