Amit Yahav researches eighteenth-century literature and culture, focusing on the impact of novels on the enlightenment and its legacy. She published articles on the intersection of nationalism, liberalism, and novels in a wide range of journals -- Novel, ELH, Studies in Romanticism, PMLA. Her first book, Feeling Time, explores how literature gives its readers off-the-clock breaks to experience an intense and different kind of duration. Yahav was born in Israel, studied at Tel Aviv University and Johns Hopkins University, and currently teaches at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, daughter, and son.
