About the Author

Darani Vasudevan is from Erode, Tamilnadu which is a southernmost state of India. She has completed her undergraduate (B.Sc.,), Post Graduate (M.Sc.,) and Master of Philosophy in the discipline of Botany at Vivekanandha College of Arts and Sciences for women, Namakkal, Tamilnadu. In her ninth standard, she carried out manual pollination in buds of two varieties of Hibiscus plants. The success she got from that simple experiment created a special interest for Botany in her mind. As a result, she has selected Botany as the main course for achieving her Degrees. Her love for plants made her a successful Botanist. She likes to carry out experiments in laboratories and has done projects related to Algae, Medicinal plants survey from people and Biopaint preparation from Anisochilous carnosus plant. Through campus recruitments, she got the opportunities for working in two reputed companies in India: Tata Consultancy Services and India Healthcare solutions but her interest in Botany made her choose her profession as an Assistant Professor. She has qualified State Eligibility Test (SET) for Assistant Professor conducted by the Government of Tamilnadu in the discipline of Life Science. Books have been her passion since childhood. She is fond of reading and Harry Potter series turned out to be her most favourite. The fond and passion she created for books made her a successful Author. She writes blogs related to useful microorganisms and interesting essays on plants. She has carried out an online survey related to medicinal plants from which she acquired details on 2078 medicinal plants. She compiled those details in the form of a database and made it available on her website.

Morangam Karunyamkadu Rasappa Gounder and Pavayyammal Endowment medal in the year 2013.

Selected as the Best outgoing student for the years 2013 and 2015 at Vivekanandha College of Arts and Sciences for Women.

Professor M. Devadha Endowment Award in the year 2014.

Placement Achiever Award in the year 2015.
