Anthony Banfield

Anthony Banfield was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad in the West Indies and holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering, a Master of Science in production engineering and management, and a Master of Science in food science and technology—all degrees obtained from the University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine campus, Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. He is also a member of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration. Banfield has worked in the food industry for over 20 years holding positions of Production Manager, Technical Manager, Chief Technology Officer and General Manager where he was responsible for managing and implementing various food processing, food safety, quality, engineering, and maintenance operations.

Banfield also takes part in archery and has represented his country in various international competitions and was once nominated for sportsman of the year in his country.

The need to provide an educational text that introduces the study of statistics in a simple, easy to read format prompted Anthony Banfield, to write “Thinking Statistically” which he hopes will provide a good understanding of the terminology and the mathematical techniques used in elementary statistics.
