S. "Flit" Thomas was born in Eufaula, Alabama on February 1, 1949. Her formal education began in the school system of Eufaula. She is a retired Senior Manager for one of the branches of the government. She completed her undergraduate work at Tuskegee University (Institute), graduate work at Wright State University and she has taken several business and management classes in Ohio and California. Her passion for writing began as a small child. She would often write poems and love verses to her mother and leave them in the kitchen or in her mother's sewing room. Her listening skills were impeccable and many of the life stories she heard from the people of the community, it is her desire to put into words in the form of a fictional/historical novel. Although her first novel "Hamburg's Hybrids" is fictional, there is a twist of realism in the book regarding her family and other families in the neighborhood.
Not only has the author penned her first novel, she has been fortunate to pen several poems and scores of music. One of her poems was submitted to be published in a poetry publication.
She is currently working on her second novel and sequence to "Hamburg's Hybrids".
