Named after Liverpool players the day of my birth; it is no secret that football has been in my blood since that rainy day in December 1994. The beautiful game has been on my mind every single day from the earliest times I can remember.
I began coaching young children at the ripe age of fifteen years old, falling in love with helping them improve their football ability and their lives. Nine years later and I have worked at some superb amateur clubs, some great academies and run a successful soccer school. I have been extremely blessed to work with some wonderful minds, some fantastic players and some incredible people who are uncompromisingly driven and determined to enhance the game in this country. If it were not for the faith and trust placed in me by these people, this book would never have been written. The lessons taught by them and learned through personal experience have been well received.
Dreaming of one day managing a top club, I began my relentless pursuit of gaining knowledge, experience and expertise in the game of football. I observed, wrote, listened, studied, examined and sacrificed much for the desire of becoming the greatest football coach or manager on the planet. Little did I know that life was preparing me for the privileged task of writing this book. I never felt coaching was enough for me, I’ve always felt there was more I could be doing for the game and the people involved in it.
I want to give back to this extraordinary game; a game that has brought me so much joy and happiness throughout my life thus far. I truly hope you enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it.
