Susan Cushman

The Wait: Love, Fear, and Happiness on the Heart Transplant List is Susan Cushman's first book. After graduating from Carleton College, she worked as a medical and freelance writer in the Twin Cities. She completed medical school and ob/gyn residency at the University of Minnesota in the 1980s.

During her 20+ years of private practice Cushman wrote a blog that provided context and commentary about medical news. After retiring, she joined the board of WINGS of Guatemala and also began work with Barbara and Bob Bonner to bring Jennifer Bonner's diary to print.

With her spouse, novelist Charlie Quimby, she lives in Minnesota and western Colorado.
