Tor Hanson

Freelance writer and local historian Tor Hanson is passionate about history. A native of Sweden, Tor moved to Los Angeles in 1986 and Bend, Oregon in 1991. He has been published in Bend Magazine, Area 97 (The Bulletin Special Publications), Boys Life Magazine, and Oregon Business Magazine.

Tor is currently researching the rich history of the city’s millworker neighborhoods and the flourishing lumber industry during the early part of the 20th Century for an upcoming book. The dynamiting of Congress Apartments in downtown Bend is one of his favorite stories.
