After graduating from Fryeburg Academy in Fryeburg Maine, I went on to receive a BS in Business Management at Norwich University, Northfield Vermont. While in college I started a small driveway sealcoating company that over time morphed into a tennis court and running track construction entity that became a major player the Northeast. After selling Maine Tennis and Track in 1999, being 50 years old and unable to admit that I was retired, I became a consultant to take advantage of some very interesting global opportunities which I had previously had to turn down because of the daily rigors or responsibilities to my crew, which after all, were good part of the reason for my success. Being involved in this industry for 50 years many of the situations that started out as problems ended up becoming humorous stories. Over the years I’ve told these tales to friends, family and business associates, basically anyone that would listen. I’ve always had a good sense of humor and was told by many people that I should write a book. Being a storyteller not a wordsmith, this author thing seemed an unrealistic adventure. I finally decided to attack this project which simply turned into this collection of funny stories about events that have taken me to South Korea, The Bahamas , Australian open, U.S. Open, Camp David, Guantánamo Bay, and the distinct pleasure of working at the White House for 28+ years on the tennis court, basketball court, artificial turf putting green, jogging track, and the Truman balcony which I recently recoated. Telling of these adventures inadvertently became inspirational to many young people in that I started out with nothing and managed now to enjoy reputation as a worldwide expert in this field.
