Toshio Asai

Toshio Asai, Director of UniLaw Business Law Institute, which is engaged in research of business law issues.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law, Tohoku University in 1978, passed the 1998 examination of the patent attorney, and obtained a Certificate of American Law Study at Temple University Law School (Tokyo) in 2003. Since graduated from the University and until August 2017, he had been engaged in corporate legal affairs as a member or General Counsel of the legal departments of Japanese companies and foreign-affiliated companies, including an automobile manufacture, computer manufacturer, luxury brand and IT services company. He is a member of the Japanese Association of International Business Law, GBL (Global Business Law) Institute, and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
