John Tebeau

John Tebeau is a Brooklyn-based artist and writer, author and illustrator of "Bars Taverns and Dives New Yorkers Love." The book is a collection of Big Apple bar profiles and drawings, part NYC travel guide, part New York picture book, and part salute to New York City architecture. It appeals to both natives and tourists alike, a New York book featuring spirited drawings of NYC buildings and anecdotes about New York landmarks in all five boroughs. John's drawings, paintings, and prints have been shown in New York City, San Francisco, and New Orleans. He began a series of bar illustrations in 2013 out of an appreciation of architecture and community gathering places, later reporting on and writing about what made those bars special. He also works as a bartender at one of New York’s great neighborhood bars, Fort Defiance in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
