David Hobday

David Hobday grew up in Lichfield, Staffordshire, where he attended King Edward VI Secondary School – an experience that may or may not have inspired certain events and characters in his writing.

He later graduated from the University of Wales Newport with a degree in Film and Animation, which explains his love of visual storytelling and a flair for the mildly dramatic.

David has a lifelong passion for history (especially Ancient Rome and the Second World War), and in 2013 he appeared on the BBC quiz show Eggheads as a History specialist. He also owns a full-size Dalek, which he once operated on-screen in Series 9 of Doctor Who – a fact he brings up far more often than is socially acceptable.

He currently lives in South Wales with his wife and children, and firmly believes that a man can never be overdressed.
