Rene Howitt was born in 1958 in St. Louis, Mo. She is a self proclaimed child advocate. The true story she shares in "Whose Best Interest" led to an appointment to Missouri's Task Force on Children's Justice. Serving on this committee since 2008. She also began speaking in high school classrooms across the midwest in 2008. The stories heard from students and teachers set in motion her founding a non-profit child advocacy organization, COPE24...Changing Our Parenting Experience. COPE24 is all about reducing incidences of child abuse and neglect by promoting the need to make parenting and child development education a priority in all high schools. Through her organization Rene has been able to produce multiple reality-based videos and documentary videos. Those include the COPE24 Parenting Skill Program (a two-week curriculum), The Life Sentence (documentary), Life-Line (documentary) and Parenting Under The Influence (documentary). Rene is often found speaking at advocacy conferences, teacher conferences and churches.
Much of Rene's success comes from the support she has received from her husband, three daughters, son-in-laws, five grand children, wonderful board of directors and corporate sponsors.
