Beverly J. Porter

Beverly J. Porter-Vander Meer writes from her farmhouse office in the Michigan countryside. She and her late husband, Ron, raised three sons. Now married to David Vander Meer, their combined families include four sons and three daughters along with their spouses, nineteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

A history buff, she is intrigued by little known, yet significant events and people of the past. Her latest title, "The Hub of Hell, A True Story of a Nineteenth Century Neighborhood, Murder, and Trial," Credo House Publishers, 2019, brings to light a long-forgotten, historic murder trial and the mystery surrounding the outcome.

Her first book, "Hills, Deals, and Stills," the memoir of the late Hack Ayers, a successful Tennessee businessman and the son of a third-generation moonshiner from the hills of East Tennessee, was published in 2015.

A Christmas book for children titled "One Amazing Night," about the birth of Jesus as recorded in Luke, is creatively and tenderly told from the viewpoint of a young shepherd boy. First published in 2018 as a hardcover by Storybook Meadow Publishing Company, it was reviewed by the Dove Foundation and awarded their official Seal of Approval for All Ages. The paperback version, published by Credo House Publishers in June of 2019, bears the distinctive Dove Seal emblem and is available on Amazon.
