Surrounded by loud noises, arguing, fighting, dominos slamming against the cold hard table, that was what my life had become. While doing three years in prison for obstructing justice, I wrote this book.
I was staying up ’til 4am most nights to dig deep inside and write about issues, both mentally and emotionally, that affected me and my family. 4th & Trenches is my journal. Based around the things that really happened, and told from my point of view, it tells the story about my baby brother, Tony. I watched him dedicate his life, working hard day after day trying to turn his dream of becoming a pro football player into a reality.
My mom raised all of her children to be close, there was no way to tell Tony's story without including the most important aspect of it—his family. The journey in writing my first book has been like a movie, really. A rollercoaster ride of emotions ranging from laughter to anger to breaking down in tears. It hasn’t been easy for me or for any one of us.
I hope this story will inspire someone to keep fighting, no matter what obstacles the devil throws at you. So enjoy and most importantly, learn how to fight through the trenches.
