Deborah Lomax-Reid (1950- ) was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to parents who committed themselves to their children’s success. Her mother, Mary Louise Lomax, was the impetus to her beginnings. And, her father provided her childhood nickname, Meatball, that has become the penn name for her children’s books.

She taught in the Philadelphia School District for 25 years, retiring in 2012 to fulfill her life-time dream of publishing her work. Her love for children, the rhythmic verse, and desire to entertain, have culminated into what is now called ‘The Family Bonding Books’. These highly entertaining and picturesque books are perfect for bringing the family together for a magical reading experience.
