Melissa Kay Moore

Children's book author Melissa Kay Moore, a Texas native, is a graduate from Texas State University. She grew up in Brownsville near South Padre Island and lives in San Antonio with her family.

Melissa loves the ocean and is an active supporter of several foundations helping to save our oceans from pollution. She in collaboration with Christine Figgener, PhD, Marine Conservation Biologist and Director of Science and Education for Footprint Foundation bring you "Poppy's Purpose to Prevent Pollution", the first book in the "Footprint" children's series to raise awareness about the harmful effects of pollution to our oceans and marine life.

Melissa’s prior works include "What's Emoji?", "Where’s Emoji?", and "How's Emoji?" in her playful, educational "My First Emojis" children's series for kids to learn to read with a fun, simple kind of rebus using emojis.
