Joseph Caplan

Joseph Caplan started as a Barrister at Law practicing in London. Due to his father’s illness, he had to leave law practice, and became a rag merchant in a poor district of London. Joseph became a money lender. Ambition led him further, and he started a bank which ten years later was on the stock market with 22 branches. Joseph's assets were in the hundreds of millions until the economic crash in the seventies when he lost everything. In 1977, Joseph came to the USA. One of his Directors The Rt. Hon. Jeremy Thorpe M.P. P.C. was the head of the Liberal Party, which was the balance of power in England. Politics stepped in, Thorpe was gay and was accused of murdering his partner in the USA. The ensuing publicity was a disaster for Joseph's bank. In fact, he was also arrested and it was years before the case was dismissed.

Joseph had become famous, taking over companies, stripping their assets, and making a fortune for thousands of investors, but it all came to an end.

He graduated from Seminary and became a pastor in Los Angeles before losing his wife Valerie to cancer in 1993. Joseph currently lives with his wife, Elaine.
