How did this TV Journalist and mom of three daughters end up flying drones, getting FAA certification as a drone pilot and writing books for kids about drones? The short version is that I realized they are fascinating, fun to fly and technology destined to play an ever increasing role in our lives. After I helped establish the Women And Drones organization to foster the growth of more females in the industry, the mission expanded to young girls. We need more girls to get interested and STAY in science, technology, engineering, arts and math careers. Put one of these flying robots in the air and kids pay attention (not to mention ask a million questions). My experience as a parent tells me that's a good thing! My goal is to create books that are a fun, informative introduction to drones for kids as well as the whole family.
