Mary Huron Hunter

Avery Hunter and her mom, Mary Huron Hunter, are Colorado-based storytellers, creatives and adoption advocates. They believe in living from courage, kindness and truth and acting from love, respect and integrity. My Fairy Birthmother is their first - but not last - book.

Their family believes that a child's first mother makes a brave and difficult choice to place her child in an adoptive home. Honoring her memory and her presence through story is one way they process her existence in a developmentally supportive way, through the early magic years into the reality of late youth - all with the intention of keeping this important conversation growing, evolving and maturing.
