Known affectionately as the Medical Coding Mama, Celia(who goes by Cici among friends) decided in August 2016 to start the blog that would change her life forever. Calling her blog Medical Coding Mama, which combined her two greatest loves, Her daughter and Medical Coding, she started writing about all things medical office, because she realized that most people didn't know what went on behind the scenes of the doctor's office. Using her perspective of being in the back office, her blog posts infuse life lessons, wisdom, practical tips, tales of caution, and laughter as she relates stories from the many patients who have crossed her path over the years, and her own trials as a single parent navigating the medical world as both a single parent, and as a Medical Coder. Also featured from time to time, are some of the life lessons at the hands of medical offices she learned as a young widow when she lost her 1st husband to cancer. Caring passionately about educating the rest of the world, she firmly believes that a well informed patient makes good medical choices for themselves and their families. Remarried a 2nd time and now divorced, she raises her daughter as a single parent.
