Sharron Mansell

Sharron started delivering education and training programmes on a part time basis in 1987, before progressing into a full-time career in further education and skills (FES) in 2000. She has gained practical work-based skills and a wide and varied understanding of schools’ provision, further and higher education and apprenticeships over her career.

Starting her FES career in 2000 as a teacher in a land-based specialist college, she progressed to course management before taking responsibility for several departments within a large general further education college. Sharron further developed her knowledge and skills within the education sector when her role changed to Deputy Principal. She now works an educational consultant, part time inspector (national and international) and Ofqual subject matter specialist.

Sharron is passionate about raising standards in education and is committed to supporting quality improvement at all levels and stages. As well as her work in the FES sector, she also volunteers as an authority governor for a local primary school.

Sharron holds a Master’s degree in Women in Leadership, an Honour's degree in Education and Training, has a Certificate in Education, is a Member of the Society for Education and Training, and holds QTLS status.

Sharron states that without the help and support from her editor Ann Gravells these books would not have been possible. In addition, she wishes to express her thanks to Richard, Emma, Steven and Morgan for their continued support.
