Mark Harvey is Professor and Director of Graduate Business Programs at the University of Saint Mary. He teaches global management, economics, organizational management, and leadership.
Dr. Harvey earned a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, master's degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the University of Wales Swansea, and a bachelor's degree from Washburn University. He also studied international business and global politics at Regent's College London. Prior to joining the University of Saint Mary, he taught at institutions including the University of Birmingham, the London School of Economics, Duke University, and the University of Kansas.
Before entering academia, Dr. Harvey worked as a small business owner and consultant, advising organizations in areas such as marketing, corporate social responsibility, higher education, and political communication. He has also participated in national security simulations at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and contributed to research on conflict forecasting and international affairs.
Dr. Harvey is the author of Celebrity Influence: Politics, Persuasion, and Issue-Based Advocacy and co-author of Simulations in the Classroom: Games Without Frontiers and Short Games and Active Learning: Beating the Clock. He has published research on topics including media and politics, international relations, innovation, human rights, economic development, artificial intelligence, and teaching and learning. His work and commentary have been featured by CNN, BBC, NPR, PBS, ABC, CBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, and other media outlets.
