Robert Turpin

Robert J. Turpin grew up in the small town of Crab Orchard, Kentucky. After an unsuccessful career as a competitive amateur cyclist, he went on to receive his PhD in history from the University of Kentucky. He is now associate professor of history at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina.
