Did you ever try to sign a family / friend communication to personalize it for all? It was starting to get crazy for me!
Consolidation absolutely has its benefits. Now I’m easily identified by an acronym and a really cute picture!
I have earned each of those names:
G- Grandma – As of this date, 6 out of 10 of my grandchildren call me “Grandma”.
L- Lyn – That’s me. 1) My mom’s daughter all my life. 2) A family member all my life. 3) My husband’s wife since 1973. 4) A name for the wealth of friends I have been so lucky to connect with for as far back as I can remember. 5) To all of my past and present work, spiritual, performance and volunteer colleagues with whom I remain connected.
A - Auntie / Aunt – I am the proud aunt to nieces, nephews-in-law, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
M - Mom – What can I say? Music to my ears. There are five children. Shauna, Adam, Andy, Jake & Matt. I have it all!
B - Baba – As of this date, 4 out of 10 of my grandchildren call me “Baba”.
In 2016, while anxiously awaiting the birth of one of my grandchildren, I composed my excitement in one sitting of prose at my computer. “Welcome with Wonder” poured out of me. I started by thinking it would just be for my grandchildren. At some point in time, it occurred to me that many new parents expecting either their first child, or expecting a new unique addition to their families, might love the message, as each new life is a miracle. In the last three years, I have had momentum challenges. After hoping an illustrator would magically appear and knock at my door, I had to learn the procedures of finding an illustrator who would pick up on my message and do colorful magic. I finally found that talent, and delighted in our communications to create all the precious babies and young people in this first book from me.
As I inch my way along with excellent professional assistance, I am now having the time of my life, allowing myself to put on paper words which are blooming from the seeds of so many impressive young lives who shine in all the colors of the rainbow. Several books are now ready to be illustrated to reflect their own magic message. I want my stories to be the spark of connection between the reader and the listener. I hope each vocal messenger who carries my words to the ears of others will use the opportunity to find the melody of their voice to bring laughter, love, adventure and peace to their experience.
