The extreme trauma Hazel experienced in childhood and as a young adult is what she calls her “sob story”.

But she stopped letting the “sob story” of her past limit her future.

Through her own resilience and the support of her Pushy Angels, Hazel became a highly successful Latina entrepreneur founding the Ortega Counseling Center that has served over 45,000 injured workers in California. She mended relationships with her four sisters, forgave her incarcerated parents, met her adoring life partner, and travels the world speaking at prestigious government organizations and educational institutions on how to create miracles in your life.

Hazel’s non-profit High Tide Global is on a mission to make education accessible in the poorest communities. With programs serving struggling schools in Los Angeles, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Columbia, Guatemala, and Uganda, High Tide Global provides educational empowerment, literacy, health, positive self-image programs, and mentorship.
