I'm Celia Lane, a Christian author and lifestyle blogger. I love reading and writing Christian historical fiction as well as helping other Christian women be who they want to be in Christ. I have been an avid reader of Christian historical fiction for a long time. My purposes for reading it have changed over the years, but when I first fell in love with the genre, a part of what I loved about it was that it helped me to see an example of what the sermons I grew up hearing looked like in real life. In my day-to-day living, often my solid, heartfelt resolutions walking out the church doors wilt like delicate flowers in the noonday sun at the first conflict. The sermons I heard were really, really good at helping me know what I should or should not do. They weren't so great at helping me figure out how to actually do the "shoulds" and "should-nots" in my specific situations. I often said the wrong thing, did the wrong thing, put my foot in my mouth, didn't have the confidence to achieve my goals or the know-how to figure out how to get where I wanted to be in life. When I did learn something, I often wished I had known it a long time ago. I listened to sermons and even read sociology textbooks to help me figure my life out. But I also read Christian fiction.

Christian fiction was better at helping me at least see an example of how to do what I know I should do. It helped me see examples of strong, virtuous women who went through real conflict and navigated the murky, muddy, gray waters of ethics to become the women they wanted to be.

So today, I write Christian fiction to help flesh out what it looks like to live in the world but not of it, to explore what it means to interact with a fallen world as a Christian. I hope you enjoy a bit of entertainment as you delve with me into historical worlds of love and adventure!
