Ronald Harris

Ronald Harris was born and raised in the Huntersville section of Norfolk, Virginia. He is a retired Department of Veterans Affairs Senior Service Representative with over 35 years serving the Philadelphia Veterans population. Also, he served in-country during the Vietnam War and he was a drug addict for over 27 years. He and his wife of 35 years, Ruby Dee, have two daughters, three grandsons, and two great-grandsons. Presently, they reside in Philadelphia, PA. For the past twenty-five years, he has served Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, ministering encouragement to incarcerated men in the Philadelphia Prison System. He is the author of five other published books: "The War Within The War (Revised Edition)", the story of a young naïve Black soldier’s inward military battles during the Vietnam era; “Norfolk Childhood Memoirs-You Had To Be There To Talk About It!” remembrance of a priceless era, a place in time ‘Back in the Day’ when childhood memories were like a clothesline where precious faded photos and keepsakes were pinned. “God Still Reigns Over Our Situations” a journey through the Bible that reveals, no matter how many wrong life choices we made, the choice to choose Jesus Christ as Savior erases them all. The “The Sojourn From A Black Man To A Godly Man”, navigates the life journey of a young man as he struggles to replicate the love snatched from him when his mother died, suddenly, early in his childhood. Decades later, he discovers the love he chased after in Jesus Christ and His Heavenly Father, "The God Who Is LOVE!" His latest published work, “Remember, You Weren’t Always Saved, speaks to Believers who have become spiritually dry and their affection for Christ has dulled. One of the main reasons for this is that we do not remind ourselves of the great price that was paid for us. If you are a Christian who is trying to learn how to trust in God more, just look back to what Jesus Christ did for you. Sometimes, Satan tries to make us believe that our past deliverances were just a coincidence. Look back to those times and remember how God answered your prayers. Remember how when Satan tried to destroy you in your ‘walk through the valley of death’, the Lord was not only with you, comforting, but He protected you with His rod and His staff.
