Jonathan Stolz

Jonathan L. Stolz is a retired physician who moved to Williamsburg, Virginia, in 2004 after thirty years of practice as a radiologist in Reading, Pennsylvania.

In retirement, he has expanded his study of his long time interest in U.S. Presidents and the history of medicine. For ten years, he shared his knowledge with others as an instructor at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the College of William and Mary.

His courses included “Presidential Illnesses” and a series of classes on medical history from ancient times to the present. The latter was the basis for his first book, Medicine from Cave Dwellers to Millennials. Since 2019, he has written regular columns on presidential history for the Virginia Gazette.

He and his wife Sandy enjoy spending time with their four grandchildren, two daughters and sons-in-law.
