Stuart Neil has been a prominent sportsman, having played tennis at Junior Wimbledon and hockey many times for Scotland. He has used this sports experience to enhance his romantic novels which feature fictitious prominent sports men and women.
More recently, as a leader of Medical Emergency Teams in some of the world's crisis zones, he has had an insight into many personal stories of rescue and deprivation.
Humour, he says, has been essential in almost all his experiences and adventures, and this shows in all his writing.
All the above enrich his novels, especially the 'Erik' trilogy that comprises 'Second String to a Tennis Racket', 'The Marbella String Quartet' and 'The Court Jester', together with it's introductory novella 'The Tennis Racket.'
His 2018 Children's book 'The Fantastical Lighthouse' carries a compelling review by Mandy Collins
"'Swallows & Amazons' meets 'The Faraway Tree'. I have been waiting since my childhood for this book."
